Today we welcomed visitors into school as part of a national research project into effective ways of engaging children and families in Music. Our school was chosen as one of only 20 in the country to participate in the project. The visitor observed our small group guitar lessons, Year 2 recorders, Year 3 Bamboo Tamboo and Year 4 viola, as well as holding discussions with pupils and watching video evidence of Music throughout the year so far.
Following our first Autumn and Spring Music Recitals earlier this year, we look forward to seeing all of our parents and friends at our Summer Music Recital later this term. You will be so proud of the children’s progress since September; their high levels of confidence are rightly deserved and both their developed independence and teamwork skills should be celebrated.
I look forward to sharing with you the outcomes of the report and specific celebrations about the music initiatives at Brownlow Fold once the research project has been completed.
